SILOX Xtra

Improved product! We have enhanced our flagship formula, allowing increased hydrophobic properties for burnt adobe.

We now offer an upgraded and improved version of our successful, tried and proven formula, called SILOX Xtra ($189.00 per five gallon bucket).   Our flagship SILOX Original product is the Cadillac of adobe and rammed earth water repellents, but as our knowledge of silicones increases, we are on the lookout to improve the SILOX line of earthen protective coatings.

All invoicing and payments are only done through PayPal; this way, I don’t see your credit card information and all your personal, private identifiers are kept safe and confidential.  Minimum order of 10 gallons (two five gallon pails).

We consider the new and improved product, SILOX Xtra, to be an upgrade from a “Cadillac” to a “Mercedes Benz” or a “BMW.”  What we have done in this improved formulation is added an additional expensive silicone emulsion to the formulation; thus, the SILOX Xtra has not one but two silicones as part of its unique formulation.  

The SILOX Original will protect your adobe from between three and five years; the SILOX Xtra is expected to protect your burnt adobe home for up to eight years and longer, thus one of the reasons for the increase in price.

Early testing reveals that this added silicone emulsion has excellent results on burnt adobe, with the hydrophobic qualities of this new silicone emulsion magnifying the protective ability of the SILOX Xtra to repel water from this particular earthen building material.

Strict adherence to application and square foot coverage guidelines are crucial to the success of all of our SILOX family of quality and specialized water repellents. The SILOX Xtra will have the same coverage rates and application techniques as the SILOX Original: 80 s.f. per gallon (400 s.f. per five gallon pail) for burnt adobe.
